Thomas Michael McLaney

Thomas Michael McLaney of Dothan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. He was 66.

Mr. McLaney was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Dale County and graduated from Newton High School in 1960. He received a Bachelor or Mechanical Engineering degree from Auburn University in 1964. He served his country with the Alabama National Guard for 6 years. Mr. McLaney worked as a mechanical engineer for the United States Government in Fort Rucker for 30 years. He retired in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Susie Wynn McLaney; and a brother, Johnny.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Benton McLaney of Dothan; one son, Michael McLaney and his wife, Doyla of Webb; two daughters, Lena Burns and her husband, Brett of Dothan; Jennifer Druham and her husband, Jay of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Burns, Heather and Laney Durham, and Michaia McLaney; one brother, Allen McLaney (Sybil); one sister, Clairece Cole (Allen); and several loving nieces and nephews.
